About us
Interesting work, interested people
Developers, business consultants and designers in one team, building and running software since 2005. Our clients run from small not for profits to organisations on the FTSE, and the care is the same either way.
See where we are →One team, three disciplines
Developers, consultants and designers who have worked together for years, not a network of freelancers assembled per project.
Not for profits to the FTSE
The same people work on both. Only the paperwork and the number of meetings really change.
Twenty years of running things
We have supported what we built for long enough to know which clever ideas survive contact with a Monday morning.
Who we are
A specialist team of creative thinkers driven by challenges worth solving.
Most agencies are one thing wearing three hats. We are genuinely three things. People who write software, people who work out what a business actually needs, and people who make the result pleasant to use. They sit in the same conversation from the first week rather than being handed the job in turn.
That mix is why we can take on a fifteen page website and a national booking platform in the same month without either one suffering. Small projects get the attention of people who have built big ones. Big projects get the pragmatism of people who still ship small ones.
We are interested in the work. If your problem is genuinely awkward, that is usually the point at which we lean forward rather than reach for a template.
Developers
Bespoke platforms, integrations, mobile and web apps, and the quiet plumbing between systems that nobody notices until it stops.
Business consultants
People who have run services, not only advised on them. Strategy, procurement, security posture, and an honest view of where AI helps and where it simply restates what you already knew.
Designers
Interfaces for the people doing the job on their feet, and for the people who need one honest number at the end of the month. Brand, product and everything in between.
The story
Trusted by not for profits, SMEs and FTSE organisations.
We deliver work for organisations of every size, and that variety keeps us honest about what actually works.
OK Websites
Oliver Kemp starts building websites for businesses and councils during university. Nobody connected OK to his initials, so OJE Technology came from using his middle name.
OJE Support Portal
A custom support centre pulling customer communication and tickets into one place. Ahead of its time, and still the backbone of how we answer for what we build.
Passport Proven
Built out of the support centre. One of the first online document verification tools for right to work checks, KYC and identity.
Pinga Medical
Occupational health software that finds the nearest available doctor, nurse or clinician. Built to catch illness early rather than react to it.
Road XS
Community transport software that finds the nearest driver, optimises schedules and automates passenger bookings, with live tracking and instant reporting.
Demand Responsive Transport (DRT)
Road XS ships the first version of its DRT algorithm, letting operators run responsive services from anywhere rather than to a fixed timetable.
Servers move onto Google Cloud
Everything moves to Google Cloud. Faster for the people using it every day, and far easier for us to evidence how it is secured.
The next Road XS
A rebuilt Road XS arriving this year. New ground for passengers, and for the operators moving them.
Founded 2005 / Same founder
The year Oliver Kemp started what became OJE Technology. Every year since, something we built has been in daily use somewhere. That is a longer feedback loop than most technology businesses ever get, and it is why our techniques are tried and tested rather than merely current.
See what we do →Where we are
We work from four places. Your data can live in eleven.
We are a UK company, with people in Newcastle, Gloucester and the Cotswolds, plus cover in Victoria, Australia. Where the software itself sits is a separate question, and it is yours to answer.

Sydney
London is the default for every UK client. If you operate abroad, or you answer to a regulator that says your data cannot leave a particular country, we can place it in any of the other regions instead. Nothing about the software changes.
Security
Serious about the boring parts.
The parts nobody asks about in the first meeting are the parts that decide whether you regret the third year.
Infrastructure you can check
Our platforms run on Google Cloud, independently certified to ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 27701, SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3 and PCI DSS. Cloudflare filters traffic at the network edge before it reaches anything we wrote.
Tested by somebody else
Penetration testing through Beagle Security, continuous monitoring, a web application firewall in front of the application, and hourly automated backups that get restored and checked rather than assumed.
Registered and accountable
Registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, built around UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and able to evidence the controls your own auditors and insurers will ask about.
Members of our team hold current UK government staff vetting compliance, which means we can be placed on work where that is a stated requirement. We do not publish the detail here, but we are happy to confirm it directly with your security or procurement team.
Google Cloud holds ISO 27001, 27017, 27018, 27701, SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3 and PCI DSS. Google Cloud also holds UK NCSC Cyber Essentials Plus and maps to the NHS (UK) framework. Certifications shown are those of our infrastructure providers and testing partners.
